Terms and
Conditions of Use
As a member of
Linkslobby.com you are representing us and the other players when
you are at this site. Because we do not have to rely on the
support of the gaming network and producers of the game we play, we
have some guidelines for how you need to behave in LinksLobby.
LinksLobby
Name
1.
Your LinksLobby Name
and Ladder Name must match exactly. An exception to this rule
is that team prefixes are allowed. If this exception is used, the
MAIN portion of the name for the LinksLobby and Cases Ladder must
match exactly. (Please note that identifier suffixes are no longer
needed because we do not use the MS Zone name setup and face
resulting problems getting a name to “take”, but they are allowed.)
2.
The same naming
convention applies as in Cases Ladder. This means a name cannot be
offensive, contain profanity, be abusive towards another or very
similar to another player/member’s name.
3.
One human = One account! No exceptions. If you are found
with more than one account, both accounts will be suspended, pending
staff decision as to the action to be taken. DO NOT TEST THIS
RULE!!!
Problems in
LinksLobby
1. If you need to contact
us, for any reason such as a problem with the chat lobby or starting
a game, you can post a message on the forum message board or contact
a Moderator to assist you. You can find a current listing of the
Lobby Moderators under the Contact Us link at
www.linkslobby.com.
2. Member Guidelines.
a.
If you encounter
another LinksLobby user behaving in an unacceptable manner, the best
thing to do is just ignore them. If a particular user is being
repeatedly abusive, please let a Lobby Moderator know. If one is not
available, email us. Be sure to include all pertinent information,
such as the date, time, offender’s username and a brief explanation
of the problems that you encountered.
b.
We encourage you to
try and solve problems on your own before bringing it to the staff,
but not to the point of creating hardship to yourself or harassing
other users. We have one of the best support staffs available on the
internet. If you have a problem, we are here to help you.
c.
You are not allowed to
abuse or harass another LinksLobby member. If you are observed being
abusive in chat it could result in being muted (gagged), or worse
case, you could be banned from the lobby. If you are being harassed
by another LinksLobby member, please contact a lobby moderator for
assistance. Do not take matters into your own hands or return the
abuse, or you could find yourself in trouble as well.
d.
The same behavior
guidelines apply for all methods of Communication in the lobby,
email, message forums etc.
e.
We have tried to be as
thorough as possible and cover all the basics, but use common sense.
If it is something that will adversely affect other players, it’s
against the rules. Our staff has the final say in such matters. If
you have a specific question, please feel free to contact us.
3.
Moderator
Treatment/Actions.
a.
Abuse of Lobby
Moderators in relation to them doing their jobs in chat or the forum
is forbidden. If you are found to be guilty of this, your account
will be penalized. Remember that they are volunteers dedicating
their time to helping improve the quality of the lobby for all. They
are here to assist you.
b.
Lobby Moderators have
the power to mute or gag other players in chat. If a situation
warrants the banning of a player, it will be brought before the
entire staff for review before a vote is taken on issuing a player
ban. Due to availability issues and time zone differences, a vote
will be taken from a majority of the staff as quickly as possible to
expedite a decision.
Moderators will use the following
guidelines when dealing with a problem member on LinksLobby. A
warning will be issued first. This can be followed by a gag on the
offending member for 5 minutes, then if necessary for 30 minutes up
to 1 day. At this point, the staff will then vote on banning this
member.
c.
To contact us, or
submit a complaint about a Lobby Moderator or to question/appeal a
decision they have made, follow the Complaint link, found at
www.linkslobby.com/contact.html. From that page you can
submit your information.
